New theme for National Poetry Day - Stars

National Poetry Day is hurtling towards us on Thursday 4th October so we're looking to put together a dozen or so poems on the theme of 'Stars' - trail your lights across the sky for us via email or through the teachers at your school. If you're submitting direct to us, please include your poem within the body of your email - the address is step@fridaysfootprint.com ... if you live in the Bailiwick of Guernsey, you could win a competition in association with the Guernsey Press - winners will receive vouchers as prizes and have their poems published in the paper on 4th October.

Thanks to Farrago Poetry who provided a timely reminder that this date is coming up as well as laying on a brilliant first Poetry Slam event at St James for pupils from many of the island's secondary schools this weekend as part of the Guernsey Literary Festival. I'll try to get a slideshow of photos for this event up here in the next few days.
