Missing Star

When I look at the stars they remind me of him,
Shining bright like his smile,
Shooting high to achieve,
If only he was here to see them with me,

When I look at the stars they remind me of him,
Blinding light of happiness,
Twinkling personality,
If only he was here to see them with me,

When I look at the stars they remind me of him,
A sparkle in their aura,
The way they glisten against the moon,
If only he was here to see them with me,

When we were little we would watch them together,
Laughing, staring, wondering,
But now that he is not here with me,
The stars just aren’t the same without him,

They no longer shine and twinkle,
Or glisten and shimmer,
They are dull and miserable and missing something,
The stars are missing him.
